Liberal Civility

Stop the presses. Liberals in Edmonton Centre are offended by the efforts of Conservative opponents, who apparently did a riding mailout with a message inside that states: "If you were a friend of the Liberals, this envelope would be full of cash."

Okay, so maybe an election isn't the best time for this kind of joke. Meanwhile, I'm running out of words to describe how two-faces the Liberals are on the "civility" file.

Take Paul Martin. During last night’s debate, after his pleas for civility, and insistence that the level of debate needed to be raised, then had the gall to accuse the Conservatives of “drive by smears” – and then immediately called Stephen Harper an unCanadian radical right wing Republican. Compound this with these extremely offensive ads released today, and it’s beyond rich for Liberals to complain about Conservative efforts to “demonize” the Liberal Party.

Consider what they’ve done here: they’ve taken quotes from one freelance opinion article in the Washington Times, and are presenting it as if this person is speaking factually about the Conservative Party. It may as well be posted on a blog somewhere for all its credibility. Yet the Liberals have no compunction presenting it as a way to paint Stephen Harper as something he’s not.

The Liberals are not trying to earn your vote here. They are trying to scare you. They are trying to threaten you. Don’t fall for it.

Did you see the Liberal ad directed at Atlantic Canada?

Fucking BS. They suggest they used the term "us" to suggest that the Liberal party was is some how linked to the people of Atlantic Canada.

That realy pisses me off.
